Lares – Booking Inca Jungle

History

There aren’t many Inca archaeological sites in Lares Valley. However, the breathtaking scenery of the Andean mountains compensates for the lack of Inca structures. Before arriving in Lares Valley, visitors can see the Sacred Valley and its impressive Inca structures near the towns of Ollantaytambo and Pisac.

Geography

Lares Valley is located near the Sacred Valley, east of the Urubamba mountain range. Lares is a popular trekking destination. Most trekking tours begin in the village of Lares, which is 64 kilometers north of Cusco and 56 kilometers east of Machu Picchu. Many traditional Andean communities dedicated to weaving and farming can also be found in Lares Valley.
