Q’enqo

The Archaeological site of Q’enqo are the remains of what was once a sacred place which the Inca Gods like the Sun, the Moon, the Apus and the Pachamama were revered at. Even after the destruction by the Spanish, we can still enjoy amazing rests which represent that this place was a very important one. Just about 4 km from Cusco, and nearby other important Inca sites, Q’enqo still maintains many mysteries around it. As its name traduced says the ‘labyrinth’, makes reference to its underground galleries below its stone structures and its zigzag stone channels, which are one of its main attractions.

Pukapukara

One of the main archaeological precincts near Cusco, because of its high  platform it is denominated as a fortress. Until this day, it’s true purpose remains uncertain. It’s name from quechua means ‘Red fortress’, this is because of the land’s color and the limestone rocks of the buildings that acquire this reddish hue due to the rays of twilight. Kusilluchayoq
